"Except for parents, no one is more important to children's futures than their teachers." -
Kate Walsh

Hi, I am Lori Burt.  I am a first grade teacher at Fair Elementary.  This is my 21st year at Fair.  I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University in 1992.  I am also a National Board Certified teacher and am currently working on a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership.

I have been married to Tim Burt for 31 years and we have one daughter, Lara.  She is married to Kiel Higginbotham and they are expecting their first baby in May.

Tim and I enjoy spending time together whether it be fishing, eating out with friends, or playing with our dog, Symon.

We are members of The Way Community Church and love serving the Lord there.

I love being a first grade teacher and having the opportunity to see young children reach their greatest potential.

My name is Ashley Chappell and I am a Kindergarten teacher at Fair Elementary. I earned my bachelors degree in Elementary Education at Mississippi State University. My husband, Michael Chappell, and I reside in Louisville. We have three dogs Florida, Gator, and Bo. We are actively involved in our church community at Ellison Ridge Baptist Church. I come from a family of teachers. My mother and two sisters all teach in the Louisville Municipal School District. My mother, Cindy Hemphill, teaches 4th grade at LES. My sister, Brandi Garrard, teaches 3rd grade at Nanih Waiya. My sister, Amanda Wallace, teaches 3rd grade at LES. We brainstorm together to come up with ideas to help all of our students in the district. Needless to say, Sunday lunch at my parent’s house is quite interesting! My father deserves a medal for putting up with all of the teacher talk! My father, Larry Hemphill, is also involved with the school system. He volunteers at LES to mentor to students and work with our classes. We are a family that loves children and works together to help the students of Louisville Municipal School District have a brighter future. I am currently working on getting my National Board Certification. I have been a teacher for 7 ½ years in the Louisville Municipal School District. This is my fourth year teaching Kindergarten. I have also taught in 3rd, 5th, and 6th grades. I am currently working as a tutor after school for 1st grade students through the DREAM program at Fair Elementary. Kindergarten is my passion and it brings me joy to build the foundation for a child’s academic career.
